MADISON CAT CLUB show in Marshfield, WI on July 9, 2011
The three ebony spotted female kittens from Staniak’s Sopharia of Sahja and CH Sahja’s MacKenna were entered in their first cat show. They competed against each other for best of color and against all the other Allbreed kittens for a place in the finals for the best ten kittens. There were four rings on Saturday. Sorina finaled in two rings and Sonya in one ring. |
|
All cats and kittens are given an entry number and judged within their classification. They are put into benching cages and wait for the judge to remove them and put them on the table. Then the stretching and fingers in our face begins. The judges compare the cats and kittens to a written breed standard. The judges then selects the top 10 from within a class: kittens, allbreed long/shorthairs, alters, and household pets to advance to the finals. Here the rosettes are awarded and points are earned towards becoming a Grand Champion and Quad Grand. By the way, a kitten is from 4 to 8 months old and then move into the adult class. The points earned by a kitten only go towards regional and international awards. |
